Sunday Spa...

With having such a lovely day shopping yesterday at Gun Wharf Quays, what would be the perfect way to spend a Sunday...? Well my mother brought me and Tobias (my partner) a champagne lunch and spa day for two for christmas! This is such a wondeful present for people who love spas and relaxing. Our spa say was held at the Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth. On arrival we were given a glass of sparkling champagne each and shown to our table ready to have our lunch. Instantly I felt like royalty, this was such a lovely treat. We ordered our lunch from the menu.. With our stomachs rumbling.. Sipping on champagne our lunch turns up beautifully presented... And was even more delicious!

We chilled in the hotels conservatory with some drinks and after 30minutes we headed down 10-15 steps to a little cave which had the spa and a few treatment rooms. It felt like a secret get away.. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of normality and the awful, misserable rain! We were handed robes, slippers and towels and left to enjoy our spa day! With aromatherapy caves, steam room, swimming pool, sauna, relaxing room and showers I felt like I had won the lottery and would defiantly go there again! It was a weekend that I didn't want to end...
What did you do today? Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Saturday's are for shopping, right?

I never want weekends to end, do you? Being a hairdresser a weekend normally consists of just one day off.. But this weekend Iv been lucky enough to have both Saturday and Sunday off, and I jolly well made the most of it. Saturday morning consisted of a lovely lay-in until around 9.30 had a cooked brekkie and made our way to designer discounted heaven... Gunwarf Quays, Portsmouth. Im a massive lover of makeup (some say I have an addiction, but it's a healthy addiction right :-D) and I couldn't help myself diving into the 'The cosmetics company store' to rumage through the bargains that they had in store. I spent so long in this shop my boyfriend went and sat outside and waited for me, whoopsie haahaa! My purchases were....

Top left - Estée Lauder double wear foundation SHADE-3N1 Ivory beige. £20.75 I used to use this when I was about 18 and ABSOLOTLEY loved it, I wore it for years until the price started to creap heavily upwards. I think I paid roughly £24 a bottle back in 2008. The coverage is AMAZING! One of my favourite foundations.

MAC Sharon Osbourne collection eye pencil SHADE- bontiful brown £11.00. I'm a massive MAC ADDICT, iv not yet used this eye pencil but with its shimmery brown shade it's perfect for a natural look with a twist.

MAC Lipglass SHADE - Morange £10.25 I have the lipstick and I'm OBSESSED with this shade, they are so pigmented and it stays on for hours! So when I saw the Lipglass I couldn't really find a reason to leave this on the shelf.

Estée Lauder pure colour blush SHADE- Electric pink £18.00. With spring just around the corner, Im excited to give my cheeks a blush of spring.

I shall write about my Sunday in tomorrow's blog.. So I want to ask you two questions..
What do you think of my makeup purchase? Did you buy any makeup this weekend?

CALORIES - THE LITTLE CREATURES WHO SEW YOUR CLOTHES TIGHTER...

Most people start the new year with wanting to loose weight! I for one definitely always have this ambition year after year! Are you also the type of person to say to yourself after Christmas that you want to loose weight? Two years ago I was focused on this subject and I was doing really well... I started calculating the food I ate on MyFitnessPal app, went running a lot and eventually my weight started to fall off me.. I started to feel so much better, I lost 21lbs altogether. I felt so much more confident in myself so I started to set myself more targets to loose more weight.

You guessed it... like everyone else I went on holidays and enjoyed my self. I ate delicious food and drank too much. Over a period of time the weight started to creep back up. You guessed it, my weight is back to square one!! I once found an ecard which said "CALORIES - the little creatures that go into your closet at night and sew your clothes up tighter" I suffer from this problem so badly.. And I know I'm not alone.

So this week Iv decided to go onto my first proper diet plan ever and joined SLIMMING WORLD! I was sooo excited yet so nervous to walk throught them double doors on my first weigh in. I'm only 4days into this program and I'm loving it... I know Iv not been weighed but I feel so focused after staying for my first meeting and seeing the amazing people who have lost weight. They are great inspiration which gives me even more reason to do this program.

It does take time to work out the plans, like the A plan and B plan, how many syns are in certain foods and how to maintain a healthy balance. The best thing Iv discovered about this is its a life change not a diet.. So if your on a "diet" and you get stuck with what to cook, then feel free to use the comment box below and share your favourite slimming world recepies with me and everyone else... Happy slimming everyone :-)

I will re-assure you we did cook ALOT of wedges.. They say you make mistakes as you go along, and I can't cook so it's been a very challenging week.

The recepie that I want to share with you is this:

4 syns (ketchup and Mayo) otherwise free is you don't wish to add this.
Chicken breast
Madalion bacon
2x light cheese triangles
Slimming world potato wedges
coleslaw mix with 2tbs light mayo
3tbs sugar free ketchup

Cut up the potatoes into a wedge shape, part boiled them for 20mins, then added fry light spray and salt, mixed them up and pop them into the oven for a further 25mins, whilst the potatoes are in the oven grill the chicken for about 25mins, then slice open the chicken and spread your light cheese triangles then place the chicken back under the grill with your bacon. After 5-10mins when both your chicken, bacon and wedges are nice and brown... Taadaaa.. Your dinner is ready to be served.

Bare Minerals Time Prime Primer

Who's makeup looks fresh, beautiful and COMPLETLEY immaculate at 8am & as the day goes on by 3pm your make up looks like you've watched 4 totally emotional films and just woken up? Am I alone? I'm hoping not..

So basically the girls at work take the mick by the afternoon that my make up has disappeared somewhere onto the floor! (By this they mean my make up has worn off!)

You can get primers for pretty much every part of your face these days! They have become a very popular product. You can buy eye primers, lip primers, eyelash primers and foundation primers they get applied before your makeup. so Iv decided to treat my pores to the Bare Mineral Time Prime Oil Control and anti-brilliance.

The bottle contains 30mls of product and comes out in a clear translucent liquid. I would describe the texture as matte. I'm guessing this is why it stays on your face all day long! In my opinion this product so far is so good. I'm loving it! I just went for the oil control anti-brilliance primer as I do suffer with a few oily areas on my face (mainly my upper lip). This is a little pricey at £21.00 a bottle from the Bare Minerals counter in Boots but Iv found you don't need ALOT as it goes such a long way so this shall last me such a long long time! It also doesn't contain a fragrance so this won't irritate my face. I them apply my makeup ontop of the primer once it has dried into my face.

My make up does last all day and I'm so happy I found this amazing product. If you use any primers or want to recommend me any primers to use please comment below as I would love to hear your thoughts.
